The European Commission which is the executive branch of the EU has over the years undergone a series of metamorphose that has transformed into an authoritarian government with no democratic accountability mechanisms and no transparency within the policies initiated by the commission.
The European Commission is the body that administers the apparatus of the European Union it is the unelected government of Europe and is controlled by the nation states who appoint commissioners to administer the EU.
Another change that the constitution would bring in would be the centralisation of individual member states Foreign and Criminal Law policies into a uniformed European Foreign Policy and a European Criminal Law statute such monolithic creations would restrict national institutions from carrying out their functions.
The purpose of the European Union as originally laid down in the Treaty of Rome is the construction of a free trade area within the confines of the member states but since its ratification the development of the EU has moved towards the antithesis of the treaty the principle of protectionism and obstruction of competition.
The EU constitution could subordinate the Bank of England to the economic planning of the European Central Bank the single market or “common market” is ignored by the most enthusiastic supporters of the EU France and Germany the economic progress of Switzerland and Norway shine like beacons illuminating the benefits of non EU membership.
Any attempt to abandon national sovereignty by democratic governments the citizens must be consulted through a referendum. The purpose of parliamentary democracy is the representation of the people and Members of Parliament are there to serve the interests of their constituents. That can't be done with unelected political bureaucrats. Britain must exit the European Union.
